Battle of the Balms: Pure Smile Snail Lip Treatment VS. Choosy Night Lip Pack

pure smile snail vs choosy

The Pure Smile Snail Lip Treatment has been a favorite product of many in the Asian beauty community, and I have been using it for about a year with great results. Whereas regular lip balms don’t adequately moisturize my lips through the dry SoCal nights, the Snail lip treatment leaves me with soft, flake-free lips in the morning. Recently, however, there was news that this holy grail lip treatment had been discontinued, spurring binge hauls of the little tubes of lip balm. While there are some still available to buy online, stocks of the Pure Smile Snail lip treatment seem to be dwindling.

Enter the Pure Smile Choosy Night Lip Pack. I saw that a few people had commented about this on Instagram so I picked up a couple tubes on Ebay to see if the Choosy Night Lip Pack would make a good replacement for the Pure Smile Snail Lip Treatment. And for all you folks who can’t wait a second longer to find out whether you should rush to your keyboards to order this, the answer, in my opinion, is a resounding YES.

I believe the Pure Smile Choosy Night Lip Pack can absolutely be a replacement for the Snail Lip Treatment, and in some ways, I like it even better!

I’m going to try to keep this comparison review short and sweet with just the information you need to know if you should purchase this product.

Pure Smile Snail Lip Treatment VS Pure Smile Choosy Night Lip Pack

The first thing I noticed is that the Choosy lip pack is thinner and more oily feeling, like Vaseline, than the Snail Lip Treatment. This is a positive thing, as one of the biggest complaints about the Pure Smile Snail Lip Treatment was how sticky the texture was. The Choosy feels like a normal petroleum jelly based lip balm that you could even wear during the day. I also prefer the smell of the Choosy, mostly because I LOVE the smell of bergamot and this lip balm smells exactly like a fragrant cup of Earl Grey.

At first I was nervous that the Choosy wouldn’t last throughout the night because of the thinner texture. But it DID. Oh it did with a vengeance. My lips were so soft and hydrated the next day, and they STAYED soft and moisturized throughout most of the morning! I felt that the Choosy actually left my lips more deeply hydrated than the Snail Lip Treatment.
