Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask

Klairs makes some of my very favorite products (like the Klairs Supple Preparation Toner), so I was happy when Wishtrend offered to send me a preview jar of the new Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask before their launch (they just launched last Friday!). I love jelly sleeping masks as my last step at night; I find them so refreshing and effective for preventing moisture loss overnight, and I find them very versatile as they can be used as a last step moisturizer or over your night cream for an extra boost.

I received this product free to review. All opinions are my own!

Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask

Key Ingredients

Wishtrend is very clear on the star ingredients of this mask: Vitamin E, Niacinamide, and Adenosine.

Vitamin E is an important antioxidant that is naturally produced by the skin. It is lipid soluble, which means it can penetrate deep into the skin to soften, protect, and and smooth the skin.

Niacinamide is one of my favorite ingredients. It does everything from soothing inflammation to brightening dark spots and strengthening the skin’s moisture barrier. The Klairs mask has 2% niacinamide, which is a bit lower than the most effective concentration of 5%, but also makes it more gentle and less likely to react with other products you’re using.

Adenosine is the molecule that carries energy to the cells (ATP, if you ever took high school biology). It is naturally present in the skin and stimulates cellular regeneration and collagen production, which makes it a great anti-aging and anti-wrinkle ingredient.

Full Ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Niacinamide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Carrageenan, Gellan Gum, Betaine, Algin, Mannan, Ceramide NP, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Chlorphenesin, Arginine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Centella Asiatica Extract, Rubus Fruticosus (Blackberry) Fruit Extract, Salicornia Herbacea Extract, Phragmites Communis Extract, Adenosine, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil

This is a really great ingredients list, like so many of Klairs’ products. There are few fillers and lots of effective ingredients. Tocopheryl Acetate, a stable form of Vitamin E, is right up there near the top of the list, while niacinamide and sodium hyaluronate (an excellent humectant) are right up there as well. This mask also contains ceramide (which explains why it’s so moisturizing) as well as anti-inflammatory centella asiatica extract (a.k.a. tiger grass). There are also some botanical oils in there. No parabens or artificial fragrance.

Performance

Well, we’ve established that I love the ingredients of this mask. But how did it perform in real life?

The Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask is a memory gel mask, which is super fun. It means that after you scoop some out, the remaining gel in the jar will smooth out so it looks like you’re using a new jar every night! The texture when you first scoop it out is like wobbly Jell-O, but it quickly melts into a soft pudding-like texture as you smooth it over your skin. It does dry a little tacky, but I really don’t mind it at night. If you use less of it it will feel less sticky.

It has a light herbal scent, almost identical to the Klairs Supple Preparation Toner.

As for my results, I could not believe how soft and silky my face felt the next morning, even after I had washed the mask off. I feel that it really worked well for preventing moisture loss overnight and it seemed to sink into my skin and soften it. I think this is a great mask for improving skin elasticity.

I know that some bloggers found that this mask had brightening effects. I didn’t find that true for me, but my sun spots are notoriously stubborn and don’t respond to anything but aggressive exfoliation. But I do like to have a niacinamide product in my routine at all times for its calming and gentle brightening ability, so this is a good product for that.

Bottom Line

I feel that this is another winner from Klairs. If you’re looking for a gel sleeping mask that will help hold in moisture while you sleep, and also help with skin elasticity, the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask is a great choice. It’s also reasonably priced and currently 20% off at Wishtrend.

  1. Totally agree that this is another winner from Klairs! It’s interesting to see how different people react to the same product, and I was surprised myself at its brightening effects. It didn’t do much for my sun spots either, but more so my overall skin tone 🙂

    • Hi Jenny! Maybe I just need to use it longer! I feel like it’s not quite as brightening as other products I have, but I do love the softening effects!
